Description
This is a portrait of my Best Pal Jade. She was rescued from a storm drain in Baton Rouge ,La. This was the day before Mardi Gra on Fat Tuesday. Since the humain society was closed for Mardi Gras we set Jade free. In return, she decided to adopt my wife and I. She had a funny little Forest Gump run, her front paws somewhat facing to the ouside and a bounce to her run. She was a smart cat too. When other kitties came upstairs on the porch I could tell her "Get the cat!" She'd run them off all the way down stairs. You see a ball and a can of Whisker Lickens in the portrait; As a younger cat, like most, she would play with a sponge ball. And the Cat treats were her favorite. When she wanted them she would jump up on our coffee table and nudge the can. If we did not respond to her wishes soon enough she would knock the can over and look at you as if to say" Hurry it up !" She was also very good at coming to get us when her water dish was low. She liked to drink her water near the brim of the bowl. If it was half way down she would tell us. The last year she started getting some kitty tumors on her leg. In the end she could not balance properly and was loosing to much weight. So with the deepest of sorrow we let her go. She was a loyal member of our family for 12 1/2 years. Jade would come to a variety of names. Her pet names were Ms. Jade, Pooh, Pooh Butt, Pooper, Poopus, Poopus Magee, Noogs, Noogie, and Fur face. She would answer to each and every name with love. Jade was my Best Pal. The original painting is not for sale; I did this one for myself. However, if you would like a print then please do order one. I would consider it an honor if someone besides me remembered Noogie .
