This is a portrait of my Best Pal Jade. She was rescued from a storm drain in Baton Rouge ,La. This was the day before Mardi Gra on Fat Tuesday. Since the humain society was closed for Mardi Gras we set Jade free. In return, she decided to adopt my wife and I. She had a funny little Forest Gump run, her front paws somewhat facing to the ouside and a bounce to her run. She was a smart cat too. When other kitties came upstairs on the porch I could tell her "Get the cat!" She'd run them off all the way down stairs. You see a ball and a can of Whisker Lickens in the portrait; As a younger cat, like most, she would play with a sponge ball. And the Cat treats were her favorite. When she wanted them she would jump up on our coffee table and nudge the can. If we did not respond to her wishes soon enough she would knock the can over and look at you as if to say" Hurry it up !" She was also very good at coming to get us when her water dish was low. She liked to drink her water near the brim o...
About Gene Ritchhart
My name is Gene Ritchhart. I was born and raised in San Diego, Ca. My father was a career Navy man, thus my early years growing up were spent primarily in San Diego. After I graduated from El Cajon High School I joined the Army. While in the army I was the driver of an M113a1 Armored Personnel Carrier. While stationed in Mainz, Germany I found that I could make a little money selling my art work. After the army I used the GI Bill to go to college and attained an A.A.degree in Art. I currently live in the state of Washington where I am continuously inspired by this states beauty. Thanks for viewing my work.
