Artist's Description

I had been passing this old friend for some time every trip I made into Mt. Vernon,Wa. I finally stopped at the private field where this old work horse sits and asked the manager if I could take some photos.I was telling the manager about seeing a duster like this one spraying the local fields of Whidbey Island and Mt. Vernon back in 1969 and 1970. My dad had been stationed at the Naval Airstation. The manager said that it was probably the very same airplane. The old girl was finally retired around 1997. Now she patiently sits waiting her end or for the hope of a worthy mechanic to restore her to once again feel the sky caressing her wings.

About Gene Ritchhart

Gene Ritchhart

My name is Gene Ritchhart. I was born and raised in San Diego, Ca. My father was a career Navy man, thus my early years growing up were spent primarily in San Diego. After I graduated from El Cajon High School I joined the Army. While in the army I was the driver of an M113a1 Armored Personnel Carrier. While stationed in Mainz, Germany I found that I could make a little money selling my art work. After the army I used the GI Bill to go to college and attained an A.A.degree in Art. I currently live in the state of Washington where I am continuously inspired by this states beauty. Thanks for viewing my work.
